The bench process

How every unit is serviced

The same steps for units I sell and gear you bring in for repair.

  1. ScreenEvery electrolytic cap tested for ESR and capacitance.
  2. ReplaceAnything out of spec, plus known problem parts.
  3. CleanSwitches, pots and contacts.
  4. AlignBias and DC offset set to the service manual.
  5. LightDial and meter lamps converted to warm-white LED, where fitted.
  6. Calibrate and soak-testFinal checks, then hours of run time to catch heat and intermittent faults. Nothing gets listed until it measures right.

Restored units

For Sale

Each unit is cleaned, serviced, calibrated and soak-tested on the bench before it's listed. The service sheet shows exactly what was done.
